The HALO column allows fast seperation as in UPLC but with "normal" pressure below 400 bar and on regular HPLC systems. Based on Fused Core Technology, HALO Columns have a
porous 0.5 µm layer fused to a solid silica core which reduces the diffusion path of the particle generating an only slightly higher back pressure.
HILIC Phases retard substances strictly according to their polarity virtually independent from their mass thus allowing seperations which so far have been beyond the possibilities of classical Reversed Phase (RP) Chromatography.
Since water is the strongest elution substance, seperation starts classically with a large quantity of acetonitrile, the ZIC-Hilic is made to optimize applications that are difficult for RP-AQ columns.
